Another criticism of the GI diet is that the measurement does not reflect the actual way ...
G.I. Diets Review is a post from: eHealth-Nut

The Glycemic Index Diet was at first established to help diabetics in controlling their weight. Diabetics need diet programs that keep blood sugar from swinging up and down too much. So researchers devised a system to determine how a certain food impacts blood glucose. The Glycemic Index rates carb foods by giving them a number ranging from 0 to 100. The number indicates the rate at which the food raises blood glucose levels during its absorption. The greater the number, or index, the faster sugar is absorbed.

A food is considered to have an elevated GI value if its rate is 70 or more. A medium Glycemic Index food has a value of 56 to 69 and a GI value of 55 or lower is considered low. Foods with a low GI value are best as they digest more naturally and help provide a steady supply of energy over the course of several hours, making you feel full longer.

But the main problem with the Glycemic Index is that there is no definite number set for each food available. There are several online sites which give numbers for a specific food, but the numbers given are quite far from each other. It is never clear where the numbers come from.

One more negative comment about the Glycemic Index is that the rates don’t suggest the concrete means meals are supposed to be consumed. People do not eat individual foods one at a time, especially in the unusually large amounts used in research. The outcome of the entire meal is more significant than the Glycemic Index of every food item in the meal. Fats and protein decelerates absorption of food. The GI diet doesn’t consider that, neither does it take the variations in everyone’s absorption of food or diverse ways in preparing meals.

For every exertion the Glycemic Index Diet demands, there is a small obvious reward when it comes to managing weight. The GI diet has not been revealed to have an effect on losing weight, even with the idea that regulating blood glucose levels will keep insulin and the desire for food in check, and consequently regulate ingestion of food and storing of fat.

However, in spite of everything, a lot of doctors concur that the GI diet, if used accurately, could be an excellent method in losing weight, particularly to those who battle with typical low-calorie diets or weight watchers who have a hard time restraining their desire for food.

The GI diet is similar to the low carb diet but it is not as strict, and targets the types of carbohydrates rather than the quantity of carbohydrates for each meal. There is a concentration as well on the right phasing of the two fundamental kinds of food; those rich in carbohydrates and those rich in protein. The science behind the timing and types of meal makes GI dieting a potent way to help lose fat stores, safely and relatively quickly.

This diet is a great choice for anybody who wants to maintain stable blood sugar levels, or who has weight problems, type 2 diabetes, insulin resistance, PCOS, and who wants to lose weight as fast as achievable.

While it is more of an approach to food consumption than a weight loss program, a lot of people use the GI method to attain their aims in slimming down.

Nutrionists and medical professionals have strongly objected to Atkins' principles of weight loss...
Atkins Diet Review is a post from: eHealth-Nut

Since it first launched onto the diet scene around 1972, millions of dieters have conquered their battle with weight problems and heart disease using the Atkins Diet Plan. As released by Dr. Atkins, the plan is equally effective in managing several illnesses such as cephalalgia, diabetes, apathetic metabolism, difficulty to tolerate certain foods, hypersensitivity, and a lot more disorders. Even though the initial intention of taking the Atkins Diet is often to lose weight fast, a lot of people with hypercholesterolemia, high blood pressure, blood sugar disorders, and polycystic ovarian syndrome have gone on record as saying that they felt more rejuvenated than ever before after just a week on the Atkins Diet.

At the same time as nutritionists were recommending low fat, high carbohydrate diets, the Atkins diet suggests that people trying to lose weight should do the exact opposite. The philosophy of the Atkins diet is that up to two thirds of calories ought to come from fat and people should favor eating meats and cheeses instead of breads, pastas, and even fruits and vegetables. Instead of carbohydrate and sugar, the Atkins Diet Plan highly recommends fat and protein. The Atkins Diet Plan clearly favors animal proteins; so for that particular reason the Atkins diet will not be very easy -or even an option- for vegans.

A lot of nutritionists and health care experts have blatantly objected Atkins’ philosophy on losing weight, since they consider that consuming unlimited amounts of fat, especially saturated fat in meat products, can worsen the chances of getting cardiac disorders.

It’s been said that a diet that restricts carbs to cause the body to rely on fat or muscle for energy can be potentially dangerous. When our body breaks down stored fat to supply energy, a by-product called ketones is formed. Ketones help to reduce hunger, but sometimes lead to exhaustion, stomach sickness, and dehydration. Anybody who has blood sugar, heart, or kidney disorders must consult their doctor before carrying out any diet that is low in carbohydrates.

Unpleasant known side effects of the Atkins plan include constipation due to a low-fiber diet, and bad breath.

Substantial study on healthy populations tells us to eat more fruits, vegetables and whole grains. Limiting these foods for the sake of losing weight can result in health issues in the long run.

However, in spite of the negative comments about it, Atkins has lead to favourable outcomes for a lot of people, and has led to not only a meaningful loss of weight but good health as well.

A lot of people initially feel that the diet is quite difficult, as can be the necessity to make meaningful lifestyle changes to achieve the best results with Atkins.

Research studies have been written on the efficacy of the Atkins Diet Plan compared to a regular low-fat, low-calorie diet in two acclaimed medical journals, The New England Journal of Medicine, and Annals of Internal Medicine. The results really were unexpected when they showed that many cardiac problem signals got better in those people doing the Atkins Diet Plan. They observed, in the Atkins group, a bigger decline in blood cholesterol levels than the low-fat set of people, and saw a larger boost in good cholesterol in the blood than the low-fat team. Both groups saw similar reductions in LDL cholesterol (bad cholesterol) and overall total cholesterol levels. Furthermore, after a year, the two classes realized the same levels of weight loss.

With NutriSystem, your diet comes in the form of a non-refrigerated foil pouch. It calls for the need to take their food selections together with fruits and veggies bought from the supermarket. Its latest diet plan includes foods prepared from nourishing ingredients which are good for the heart, such as those rich in omega-3 fatty acids and soluble fiber, which NutriSystem asserts could contain your desire for food, lower feelings of hunger, and control appetite in between meals. The diet plan also consists of DVDs on health for both sexes, an activity manual, a personalized food diary, and a Quick Start Guide.

Except that the ultimate convenience of NutriSystem doesn’t come in cheap. The cost of their food is quite expensive. In addition to their packaged foods, you also have to buy fruits, vegetables and milk. Comments about the superiority and flavour of their foods differ as well.

But NutriSystem is perfect for those who don’t want to plan meals or portions. They offer a variety of options, including a vegetarian plan. They have high-quality low-fat picks, and a well-adjusted meal plan centered on the USDA Food Guide Pyramid. They also give client support via personal counselors, newsletters, chats and e-mails.

Centered on the Glycemic Index that classifies carbs based on their effect on blood glucose levels, the NutriSystem program evens out blood glucose by highlighting low GI carbs that split up gradually and discharge sugar into the blood slowly, compared to high GI foods that splits up more quickly. Loading up on low GI carbohydrates, in combination with optimal amounts of protein and fiber, helps stave off hunger and keeps dieters satisfied. Dieters select between six, 28-day programs: Women’s, Men’s, Women’s Silver, Men’s Silver, Women’s Diabetic, Men’s Diabetic or Vegetarian. The plan includes menus and checklists so dieters always know what to eat and when.

On their program, you eat five to six small meals each day. The meal is low in sugar, packed with good carbs. You’ve got these great-tasting meals delivered to your house. Everything you need to be successful is there. You know when you wake up you’ve got a plan and you’re ready to go. Then you include your dose of protein, such as a glass of non-fat milk and a fruit. It is so easy that the weight watcher begins to catch up on the beat.

People grow jaded in a short span of time. Offering more options makes it appealing. People long for diversity, and they present a wide selection that people take pleasure in it and shed off pounds. The nourishment is well-adjusted for excellent health. On NutriSystem, you get to have what you crave on a daily basis.

Any successful diet plan allows for some flexibility, and Nutri System is no exception. You may switch out any afternoon snack for a morning snack, and likewise switch a NutriSystem lunch for a NutriSystem dinner.

Working out is not included in the NutriSystem diet program; however, diet experts and specialists may assist you in planning a program that is suitable for you.

The moment you achieve your target weight, a NutriSystem specialist can assist you in setting up a meal plan that will gradually include foods bought from the supermarket into your normal diet.
